    Emin Atra, born on July 7, 1990, in Baghdad, Iraq, now resides in Bielefeld, Germany’s 18th largest city. Emin and his Iraqi family were forced to move to Germany in 1996 when he was just eight years old due to war and persecution. The town of Halberstedt, near Magdeburg, was the first central site of contact. After several arduous months, they finally landed in Bielefeld, through Schönebeck and Dortmund, where the family currently resides and feels at ease. The oldest sibling Emin has two younger sisters and one younger brother.

    As a foreigner in a new nation, Emin had numerous challenges and had to move schools twice. The youngster witnessed an attack on his mother by right-wing fanatics, which spurred his initial decision to learn a martial art to defend himself and the people who mattered most. Emin Atra began his martial arts training at the age of eight, wrestling, and then added Kickboxing and Taekwondo to his repertoire. He has a 42-1-3 amateur record with 29 KOs while training at Box Club “Forward Bielefeld.”

     

    Career

    Emin Atra made his professional debut on June 27, 2015, against Besmir Palku, defeated by TKO. Before his seventh professional fight, he switched trainers to Dimitri Kirnos, who had previously worked with the Klitschko brothers. With a unanimous decision victory over Surik Donsdean in his eighth fight, Emin Atra became the German super-middleweight title (5-5-2, 4KOs). Emin and his colleagues were greeted by Mayor Pit Clausen and given the title of ‘Ambassador for the City of Bielefeld’ after their crowning success.

    Emin Atra defeated Bosnian boxer Aleksandar Kuvac (9-25) in the third round in his tenth fight, which took place in Turkey.

    Emin Atra fought Mail Taeubig, Radovan Petrovic, Adnan Hadzihajdic, Gordan Zoric, and Darko Knezevic five more times. At Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, he began the 2016 season with a battle against Mikola Matic. Surik Donsdean, Aleksandar Kuvac, Giorgi Beroshvili, and Marko Kuvac were all defetaed in 2016. He fought George Aduashvili and Slavoljub Mitic twice the following year. On November 24, 2018, he defeated Yesilat Berkta at Velbert’s EMKA Sportzentrum. In 2019, Atra faced Levan Shonia and Patrick Linkert, who she defeated via MD and UD.
