Kossounou’s career started in the academy of ASEC Mimosas. His plays at the youth tournament Gothia Cup gained attention, and he earned his first invite to training with Swedish Allsvenskan club Hammarby IF.

In 2019, Kossounou received a four-year contract from Hammarby shortly after his 18th birthday. His official debut was on February 18, in the main domestic cup Svenska Cupen.
