Born on November 5, 1964, Abedi Pele hails from Kibi, Eastern Region, Ghana. Pele holds Ghana nationality and comes from an African ethnic background. He was born under the star sign Scorpio.

Abedi Pele’s career started in 1970 with the Great Falcons youth team. However, his nomadic career began after joining Real Tamale United in Ghana in 1978, where he made 46 appearances and secured 21 goals. In 1982, Pele left Ghana for Al Sadd for a transfer fee of $1,000. The following year, he played for FC Zurich and returned to Ghana.

Pele committed to AS Dragons DC de I’Oueme in 1984 but left to play for Real Tamale United for one season. Later on, his career in Europe commenced after joining Chamois Niort.

Afterward, Pele joined Marseille and transferred to Lille on loan. He won four league championships and two European Cups final appearances while playing for Lille. 

Later on, Pele joined Lyon after his loan ended and committed to Torino in 1994. Pele ended his European career with 1860 Munich.

After Munich, Pele signed a two-year contract with AI Ain and was nominated as one of the best foreign players to play in the UAE league.
