Professional Career
In the 2009 NFL Draft, Shipley joined the league as a seventh-round selection (No. 226 overall) of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The center consumed the 2009 season on the Steelers’ practice team before joining the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad in 2010 and staying with them through the preseason in 2011.
Shipley joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2012 and played in 14 games, five of which he started. In 2013, he was transferred to the Baltimore Ravens, where he started nine of the team’s 16 games.
Shipley then returned to Indianapolis in 2014, appearing in 15 games for the Colts, including five starts.
From 2015 to 2019, he played five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, appearing in five games with two starts.

After playing 12 seasons in NFL, Shipley was forced to retire due to bruised spinal cord injury. Therefore, he continued his career as a coach and joined the Buccaneers in 2021 as an offensive assistant.
