How was the Erickson Lubin childhood?

Erickson Lubin is a native of the United States. In many interviews, he has confirmed that Oscar De La Hoya is his primary source of inspiration as a boxer. Lubin was born in Orlando, Florida, to Haitian parents Erick and Marjorie, and grew up idolizing Oscar De La Hoya and other boxers.

Lubin won the Golden Gloves as a welterweight in 2013. He was supposed to compete for the 2016 Olympics but instead chose to pursue a business career. Lubin had a 143-7 record. Lubin claimed amateur Open titles at the 2013 National Golden Gloves, 2013 PAL Championships, and the 2013 Independence Cup, including a massive upset of 2012 Olympic Bronze medalist Yasniel Toledo in the latter’s semifinals, transforming him into one of America’s best medal prospects at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

How did Erickson Lubin start his career?

Erickson Lubin began his professional boxing career in November 2013, as a high school senior just a few weeks shy of his 18th birthday, earning his debut by 35-second TKO over Eric DeJesus. Lubin fought Jorge Cota in a WBC super welterweight title eliminator after 17 victories, 12 of which were by knockout. The bout was set to take place on March 4, 2017, as a co-feature to Keith Thurman vs. Danny Garca. Cota was knocked down in the fourth round and attempted to get up, but the referee ruled him unable to play. Lubin became Jermell Charlo’s mandatory challenger since his victory.

According to RingTV, the battle between Charlo and Lubin will take place on October 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

His first, third, and fourth victories over Robert Acevedo Tirobio Ball were fifteen days apart in February, and Lubin claimed his second professional battle in 61 seconds on Louis Santiago, and his first in the second, second round, on Jovan Ramirez in April.

Santiago joined 4-0, Ball 4-1-1, and Lubin, who won the nickname Hammer, fought for the first 3 battles with 147 pounds before he reached 150 pounds for Ball.

    Bouncing Back

Erickson Lubin was attempting to win his third consecutive stoppage and a first world title at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, 13 days after his 22nd birthday, when WBC king Jermell Charlo’s pin-point first-round right uppercut sent him falling to the canvas on October 14, 2017.

Lubin bound up again with Silverio Ortiz’s fourth-round TKO (October 2018), his first 4-0 streak with three knockouts since Charlo’s collapse before replacing former police officer trainer Jáson Galarza with seasoned coach Kevin Cunningham.

From Orlando to West Palm Beach, Florida, Cunningham gym, Lubin moved his training camp to Cory Spins, Devon Alexander, and David Diaz, for training world-left Boxing champions.

    Up Again

At the end of 2019, Lubin’s three last wins were the Ishe Smith (September) and Zakaria Attou (June) third and fourth stop, and a majority decision was taken against Nathaniel Gallimore (October). In a four-knockdown affair, Lubin made the pledge that he was the first man to stop Smith and obliterate his former champion. Eddie Mustafa Mohammed, Smith’s trainer, told Reiss referee Jack to end the struggle.

Lubin displayed composure and persistence in training camp against Gallimore, who was late in being replaced by the former U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha.”There were a few things that I had and try and correct earlier, so it’s time to refute the opponents and pick up my expertise in boxing. I like the division’s top dogs and Jermell’s rebuff. I want to be where I am, and I want to show that. I want to be where I belong. I certainly want a title shot and I need it. I’d not be ready for anyone,” Lubin said.

In a WBC World Super Welterweight Title Eliminator on September 19th, 2020 Lubin took over the US Olympian Terrell Gausha in 2012. A fresh, better Lubin overcome the stiff challenges faced by Gausha, who took a few hard moments to finish the 10th round and almost stopped Gausha in the last round.

For most of the action, Lubin dominated using his punch, angles, and bodywork. He fought hard to get something important, even though in the 10th Gausha managed to amaze Lubin. Yet “Hammer” fought back and bit down. On the 12th Gausha was forced by a strong right hook. He will survive but with 118-110, 116-112, and 115-113, Lubin secured a secure result.
