Lubin fought Jorge Cota in a WBC super welterweight title eliminator after 17 victories, 12 of which were by knockout. In a WBC World Super Welterweight Title Eliminator on September 19th, 2020 Lubin took over the US Olympian Terrell Gausha in 2012. A fresh, better Lubin overcome the stiff challenges faced by Gausha, who took a few hard moments to finish the 10th round and almost stopped Gausha in the last round.

For most of the action, Lubin dominated using his punch, angles, and bodywork. He fought hard to get something important, even though in the 10th Gausha managed to amaze Lubin.
