Harold Reynolds Early Life
Harold was born on November 26, 1960, in Eugene, Oregon, United States. He was born to parents John Reynolds and Lettie Reynolds. Harold has eight brothers. He is the youngest. Donald Edward Reynolds, aka Don, is one of his brothers. Don Reynolds is a full-back for two seasons in San Diego Padres’ MLB. In addition, Don Reynolds played football for Corvallis High School, leading the 3A State Championship team. Harold Reynolds grew up in Corvallis, Oregon. He had an exceptional relationship with his grandmother. He credits her with incorporating Christian faith and love into her program. Reynolds is a very devout Christian.
Harold Reynolds Career
Reynolds spent many seasons in minor leagues, playing for the Wausau Timbers (A) in Wisconsin in 1981 and Lynn Sailors (AA) in Massachusetts in 1982, and the Salt Lake Gulls (AAA) in Utah in 1983, before his first league game on September 2, 1983. Reynolds learned to change careers at a young age by working with young league managers and former Cincinnati Reds winner Bill Plummer. He played AAA football in Salt Lake the following season before being called up again in September 1984. The 1985 season was Reynold’s official rookie season at Major League Baseball while playing for the Seattle Mariners.
Harold was an All-Star in 1987 and 1988, leading the American League on stolen bases with 60 in 1987, three times as many as 11 in 1988, and 644 bats in 1990. In 1986, Harold played in Puerto Rico with the Mayagüez Indians. On October 26, 1992, Reynolds was granted independence and signed with the Baltimore Orioles in December. After one season with the Orioles, he re-entered the free agency on October 29, 1993. Reynolds signed with San Diego Padres on January 28, 1994, before being sold to the California Angels that March at Hilly Hathaway. The 1994 season was Reynolds’ last season in the major leagues.

Reynolds joined ESPN in 1996 as the lead studio analyst at Baseball Tonight. He will appear at significant baseball events on ESPN’s set, including the All-Star Game and World Series. He was also a commentator on ESPN’s broadcast of the College World Series and the Little League World Series. However, he was fired from the network in July 2006 following allegations of sexual harassment. Reynolds joined MLB.com as a commentator in June 2007. In April 2008, he joined the Mets spread before the game at SportsNet New York as a baseball commentator. Reynolds also worked with TBS on their Sunday baseball television and at the 2008 MLB Playoffs.
Reynolds has been a commentator on MLB Network since its launch in January 2009.
