    Nick Rolovich is the head football coach at Washington State University. He is an American football coach and former player. Rolovich studied economics at the University of Hawaii and went to New Mexico Highlands University for his master’s degree. He was a quarterback for the Arena Football League’s Las Vegas Gladiators. His full name is Nicholas Robert Rolovich. He took over for Mike Leach, WSU’s former head coach, who has the third-most wins of any coach in school history.

    At City College of San Francisco, Nick Rolovich was a two-time junior college All-American who led the Rams to a national championship in 1999.

    WSU’s current head coach was previously with the University of Hawaii. Nick Rolovich led the team to a division title and a first-ever appearance in the Mountain West Conference Championship game. The former head coach of Hawaii was also a former player for Hawaii University when he had one of the best seasons in the school’s history.

    Early life

    Nick Rolovich was born on February 16th, 1979. Rolovich was born and raised in Novato, California. He was a varsity football and baseball player at Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, California. He won two league championships with his football clubs. His family life and childhood are still obscure.

    Professional football career

    After an outstanding mini-camp, Rolovich signed with the Denver Broncos on May 18th, 2002. He returned to the organization the following season before being assigned to the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe. Rolovich led the Fire to World Bowl XI in 2003, completing 87 of 149 throws. In the championship game’s 35–16 loss against the Frankfurt Galaxy, he completed 14 of 19 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown.

    Nick Rolovich was a backup quarterback for Mark Grieb with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League in 2004 and 2005. He became the first quarterback in San Jose since Grieb in 2002 to throw a pass in a game. On October 31st, 2006, Rolovich signed with the Arizona Rattlers. Both the Chicago Rush and the Arizona Rattlers released Rolovich in 2006. The Las Vegas Gladiators signed Rolovich on April 10th, 2007.

    Coaching career

    Nick Rolovich worked as quarterback coach for his JC alma mater, the City College of San Francisco Rams, for two years while still playing in the AFL. Rolovich taught future quarterbacks Zac Lee and Jeremiah Masoli, who went on to play for Nebraska and Oregon, respectively, after graduating from high school. He departed from professional football in 2008 and became a full-time quarterback coach for his other alma club, the Hawaii Warriors.

    Nick Rolovich was elevated to offensive coordinator for Hawaii in 2010. After being fired by new Warriors head coach Norm Chow, Nevada hired him as their offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2012. Rolovich was slated to be the offensive coordinator at Temple on Matt Rhule’s inaugural staff in 2013; he backed out after Nevada increased his compensation to $240,000 on January 9th, 2013.

    Rolovich was hired as the new head football coach at the University of Hawaii on November 27th, 2015, replacing Chow and interim head coach Chris Naeole. Hawaii finished the regular season 6–7 but received their first bowl invitation since 2010 to the Hawaii Bowl, where they defeated Middle Tennessee 52–35. Unfortunately, Hawaii’s 2017 season was cut short due to injuries to John Ursua and other key players, with the team finishing 3–9 and losing their final five games.

    Rolovich was named the next head coach of Washington State University on January 13th, 2020, succeeding Mike Leach, who had left to become the head coach of Mississippi State.

    Nick Rolovich is married to Analea Donovan, who was born on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Nick met his fiancée Analea during his undergraduate years, and the two have been together ever since. They married and have been living together since.

    Nick and his wife Analea have four children together: Daniel, the oldest son, and Alana Rolovich, the youngest daughter. They also have two sons, William and Patrick, who are twins. Alana was born in May 2009, and twins were born in 2003. Daniel was born in August 2007.

    Net worth and achievement

    Nick Rolovich has agreed to a five-year contract with WSU for $3 million each year. According to Steve Berkowitz, it comprises $2 million in base salaries and $1 million in media compensation. Nick would be paid 60% of his base salary if WSU fired him. His entire contract income in Hawaii before joining WSU was $2.1 million, not including bonuses and incentives.

    He also guided City College of San Francisco to a national championship in 1999 while in college. As a player at Hawai’i University, he was named Huala Bowl MVP in 2002. In addition, he was named Mountain West Coach of the Year at the same university for his excellent coaching.
