Samantha was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on November 22, 1994. Her full name is Samantha Estephania Guadalupe Bricio Ramos, and she also has the nickname Samy.

She also won the Best Scorer and Best Server awards at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and the Best Scorer award at the 2011 Youth Pan-American Cup, 2011 Junior Pan-American Cup, and 2013 Pan-American Cup.
She competed in the 2016 Open National Championships with the American Premier Volleyball League club Chesapeake Rising Tide from the Chesapeake Bay. Samantha helped her team win the bronze medal after losing to Team Iowa Ice but defeating Great Lakes Lightning to finish third.
Samy signed a two-year contract with Imoco Volley Conegliano, the Italian league champion, beginning in the 2016/17 season.
The outside hitter was chosen for the All-Star game and later won the Italian Supercup, defeating Foppapedretti Bergamo 3–1, where she was named Most Valuable Player after leading her team with 24 points.
In 2018, she left Conegliano and moved to the Turkish club, Fenerbahçe. After having a short spell in Turkey, Samy returned to Italy to join Pallavolo Scandiccit this time in 2019. Currently, she is in WVC Dynamo Kazan’s Russian club (2020-present).
