Early Life of Calais Campbell

Calais Campbell was born on September 1, 1986, in Denver, Colorado, to parents Charles and Nateal Campbell. His full name is Calais Malik Campbell. He grew up with seven siblings, including brothers Jamar, Raj, Ciarre, Severin, and Jared, as well as sisters Kimba Blaylock and Keyonne Campbell. He attended South High School and was one of the players in his high school football team. After graduating from high school, he joined the football team at the University of Miami.

Calais Campbell’s football Career

Campbell attended South High School in Denver, Colorado, where he played high school football. He is widely regarded as one of the nation’s top defensive end prospects, ranked by Rivals.com as the tenth best strongside defensive end and Scout.com as the seventh overall defensive end. During his time at South High School, he set a state record with 57 sacks.
In addition to football, Campbell was an All-State basketball selection as a junior, averaging 22.7 points (fourth-best in Colorado), 16.0 rebounds per game (first in the state), and 3.3 blocks per game.

Campbell also participated in track and field at South High School, where she qualified for the state meet in the discus and shot put in 2003. His personal bests in track and field are 21 feet (6.4 m) in the long jump, 48 feet (15 m) in the shot put, 135 feet (41 m) in the discus, and 44 feet 2 inches (13.46 m) in the triple jump. Campbell rejected Colorado State, Nebraska, Louisiana State, Michigan, Oklahoma, and San Diego State over Miami.

Campbell made his debut with the Miami Heat during the 2005 season. He had 24 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, and three passes defended in 11 games. Campbell had 55 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, four passes defended, and three forced fumbles in 2006. During the 2006 season, he had at least three sacks in three different games. In his final season with the Hurricanes, he had 50 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, three passes defended, and one interception.

Calais Campbell is a defensive end who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL). Campbell’s sack total increased to 12.5 in Week 13, setting a Jaguars franchise record for most sacks in a season. Campbell returned to Arizona to face his former team in Week 12, recording three solo tackles and recovering a fumble for a touchdown. The Jaguars were defeated 27–23 by the Arizona Cardinals. Yannick Ngakoue stripped Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert during the fourth quarter, and Campbell recovered the ball and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown. Campbell had five solo tackles, a pass deflection, and two sacks in a 45–7 win over the Houston Texans on December 17, 2017.

In Week 16, he had a season-high eight combined tackles and a pass deflected in a 44–33 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Campbell was named to the 2018 Pro Bowl on December 19, 2017, his third Pro Bowl selection.

He received several awards and titles due to his outstanding football performance, including four Pro Bowl appearances and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.
