Lindell was interested in wrestling from his early childhood. He was taught martial arts by his martial grandfather.

His martial Grandfather was a retired martial artist. To give wings to become a martial artist just like his grandfather, chuck studied Karate at Keikan Karate School when he was just 12 years old. He even had a tattoo on his back of the neck, which is known as Koei-kan, that resembles a warrior. After he studied martial arts, he moved to Los Vegas, where he met Jon Lewis, a professional Martial Artist.
