Davis Thompson Golf Career
Davis started playing golf at Lee-Scott Academy. Davis Thompson helped the high school team compete in six countries and was also honored with state awards in 2013 and 2015. After graduation, Davis joined the University of Georgia. He made his debut for his teammates at The Carmel Cup, placed 20th, and Saoni in 11 of 12 Bulldogs tournaments.
The following season, Thompson won the NCAA Athens Regional with his first victory. As a junior student, he finished sixth in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational and Southern Highlands Collegiate, becoming eighth in the Carmel Cup. During his senior year, he won the Tallahassee Regional with a career-best 14-under 202 to help Georgia prepare for the NCAA Championship. Thompson is still in the field as a sponsor pardon after emailing tournament officials asking for a place.
