D’Wayne began playing American football at a young age. Eskridge was a sprinter on the track squad and a football player. As a senior, he was named Indiana’s Mr. Track and Field. In 2015 and 2016, the player competed in track and won the 100 meters, 200 meters, and long jump at the Marion boys track regional. Eskridge chose Western Michigan over Ball State, which was the only other FBS program that offered him a scholarship, after graduating from high school.
