El was born on 15 January 1981 in Dakar, Senegal. His full name is El Hadji Ousseynou Diouf, and Capricorn rules him.

Club Career
El Hadji Diouf began his career with a French side Sochaux-Montbéliard. On November 12, 1998, he debuted in a 2–1 victory over Bastia. After Sochaux, he went on to play for two other French clubs, Rennes (1999-2000) and Lens (2001-2002).
In the summer of 2002, he signed with English giants Liverpool FC. Diouf made his LFC debut in a 3–0 win against Southampton on August 24, 2002, and was praised for his performances as he scored two goals.
Also, Liverpool defeated Manchester United in the 2003 Football League Cup Final, which he started.
Diouf’s next goal for Liverpool didn’t come until March 2003, which was a long wait for Liverpool fans. That happened in a 2–0 victory over Bolton Wanderers, in which he scored twice and assisted on the other.
During his time at LFC, he had 55 appearances for the club and scored 3 goals. For the 2004-05 season, he was sent on loan to Bolton Wanderers by LFC.
Following that season, El Hadji Diouf was permanently signed by Bolton in 2005. Diouf netted Bolton’s first-ever goal in a European tournament versus Lokomotiv Plovdiv in a UEFA Cup match at the Reebok Stadium on September 15, 2005.
He had a successful time at Bolton and became a fans’ favorite. However, after making 114 appearances (including his 2004-05 season as a loanee) and tallying 21 goals in all competition for Bolton, he left the club at the end of the 2007–08 season.
On 28 July 2008, a forward joined Sunderland in a four-year deal. He played 14 games for the team but failed to score a single.
A Senegalese moved to Blackburn Rovers on 30 January 2009 and signed a three-and-half-year deal with the club after spending 1st half of the 2008-09 season at Sunderland.
Diouf scored his first goal for Blackburn in a 2–1 away win over Fulham on 11 March 2009 and scored his first home goal in a 3-1 victory against Wolves.
During the 2010-11 season’s January transfer window, he was loaned to Scottish side Rangers for the rest of the season.
After concluding his loan spell in Glasgow, he returned to Blackburn. However, his contract was terminated on 31 August 2011 by mutual consent.
After that, he joined two other English teams, Doncaster Rovers (2011–2012) and Leeds United (2012–2014). Diouf finally ended his career at Sabah FA, a Malaysian club, which he joined in November 2014 in a one-year deal.
International Career
Diouf’s international career began against Benin in April 2000. He has 69 caps for his country and has 21 goals to his credit.
He was named to the World Cup All-Star squad afters named to the World Cup All-Star squad after leading Senegal to the quarter-finals and victories over France (1–0) and Sweden (2–1) in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. However, Senegal eventually fell to Turkey 1–0 in extra time.
Diouf was also a member of the Senegal side that finished second in the 2002 African Cup of Nations, although he was one of the players who missed a penalty in the final shootout, losing to Cameroon.
