Frank Beamer, who was born on October 18, 1946, is a retired American college football coach, most notably the Virginia Tech Hokies, and a former college football player. [3] Beamer was a stick in the corner of Virginia Tech from 1966 to 1968. His coaching experience began in 1972, and from 1981 to 1986, Beamer worked as a head coach at Murray State University.

He then became the best football coach at Virginia Tech from 1987 until his last game in 2015. Beamer was one of the longest-serving coaches in the NCAA Division I FBS and was the most active coach at that level at the time of his retirement.

Frank Beamer Early Life

Beamer was born in Mount Airy city of North Carolina, on October 18, 1946, to his mother Herma Beamer and father, Raymon Beamer. Although born in North Carolina, he grew up in Carroll County, Virginia. The exciting truth about him is that he is a descendant of the famous Allen Clan of Carroll County in Virginia. Similarly, Frank’s uncle Floyd Allen fired a shot at a court that killed five people, including a judge, a prosecutor, and a district attorney, out of anger. When Frank was seven, he nearly died from a fire accident. As per the report, Frank used a pressure broom to keep garbage burning in the area.

After spending the season there, he was promoted to assistant coach at The Citadel, Military College in North Carolina. There he spent seven times. So, two seasons ago at The Citadel, he was promoted to the position as a defensive midfielder. After spending seven seasons there, he was hired as a defensive coordinator for Murray State University under head coach Mike Gottfried. Frank was promoted to Head Coach of the Murray State University football team two years later.

After spending eight years on the Murray State team, Frank was hired as head coach of Virginia Tech in 1986. As a result, Frank Beamer signed a four-year contract with Virginia State worth $ 80 million.
