Nate Bjorkgren began his coaching career shortly after graduating from Sioux Central High School in 1998 when he was employed as an assistant coach. He went on to work as an assistant coach at Linn-Mar High School when his time there ended. Cactus Shadows High School hired him in 2004. He was the head coach for three seasons and was awarded Coach of the Year in each of them.
Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League signed him as an assistant coach in 2007 (currently known as NBA G League). He worked with head coach Nick Nurse and was really helpful. The Iowa Energy won the inaugural NBA D-League title in his final season with the franchise.
It was time for Nate to flourish in the NBA after a tough few years. When his contract with the Bakersfield Jam expired in 2015, he was hired as an assistant coach by the Phoenix Suns of the NBA. However, the team’s performance was so dismal that the team’s administration was forced to fire the head coach and the rest of the coaching staff, except for him.
He has been a member of the team for two years. The team’s performance was excellent throughout his tenure, and the Raptors were named NBA Champions in 2019.
