He began his professional career in 2004. Since then, Ivan has competed in several tournaments and won some.

Ivan qualified for the main draw of 2010 Australian Open and overcame former World No. 1, Juan Carlos Ferrero, in 5 sets in the first round. In the second round, though, he was defeated by Stefan Koubek.
