    Joanne Calderwood has signed to compete in the UFC’s 20th season on December 11, 2013. The event was held to establish the UFC’s first female strawweight champion. Joanne sped her way to the quarter-finals after defeating American wrestler Emily Kagan in just two rounds, however, she was eliminated by Rose Namajunas of the United States. Despite the loss, she received a bonus of $25000 for winning the ‘Fight of the Season award.

    On December 12, 2014, she overcame Seo Hee Ham to win ‘The Ultimate Fighter Finale.’ She then went on to lose against Maryna Moroz at ‘UFC Fight Night 64,’ when she was forced to submit. She defeated Cortney Casey at ‘Fight Night 72′ and Valerie Letourneau at ‘Fight Night 89′ in the next two UFC battles. Calderwood was defeated again by Jessica Andrade at ‘UFC 203′ in 2016.

     Her opponent compelled her to succumb once more. In July 2017, she was last seen in a UFC battle. At ‘UFC Fight Night 113,’ she faced Cynthia Calvillo. Her opponent was declared the winner by the judges in a unanimous decision.

    On November 19, 2017, she was expected to meet Bec Rawlings at ‘UFC Fight Night: Werdum Vs. Tybura.’ However, she sustained an injury just before the battle and was replaced by a newbie.
