Justin Morneau is the first retired Canadian midfielder to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2003-2016. He was signed by the Minnesota Twins, played for the team until 2013, and then played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rookies, and the Chicago White Sox.
The All-Star four times despite a career full of injuries, Morneau was named the essential player in the 2006 American League (AL) (MVP), finished second in the MVP in 2008, and won two Silver Slugger awards.
