The former footballer is the son of Mory Toure. Mory is a retired army officer and farmer. His mother’s name has not been revealed; however, sources claim his mother and father are of Ivorian descent.

Kolo Toure started his football career at ASEC Mimosas in 1999 when he was 18. Later on February 2002, he joined Arsenal, which handed him a long-term fee of £150,000 annually.

Playing for Arsenal, Toure made 225 game appearances and scored nine goals. His Arsenal debut match was against Liverpool in the FA cup in August 2002.

After seven years with Arsenal, on April 13, 2009, Toure demanded a transfer following a reputed bust-up with teammate Gallas. However, the transfer request was negated, and Toure decided to play for the Gunners until summer.
