When Phillips was 3 years old, his father joined him at the Gracie Academy out from his hometown Torrance, California. His parents give him much love and support from a young age regarding his dream and hobby.

Kyler Phillips first started his professional fighting career by debuting in the 2016 Bantamweight CXF 1: The Return event held in Studio City, California. He wins the match against Taylor Alfaro by TKO punches.
Later on the same year, he returns back for the CXF 4: Fighting for Liam event and fight against PJ Ste Marie and wins the match by calf slicer submission. Following that, Phillips again wins the CXF 5; Night of Champions against George Garcia by TKP punches on December 17.
In 2017, Phillips was signed to fight against Jonathan Quiroz for the LFA 13 event held in Burbank, California, United States.
