    Leylah Annie Fernandez’s Early Life

Leylah Annie Fernandez was born on the 6th of September, 2002, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Jorge Fernandez, a former soccer player, and her mother Irene Exevea, who was born in the Philippines and now lives in Montreal. further details about her mother is still a mystery. Talking about her siblings, Bianca Jolie Fernandez, a tennis player, and Jodeci Fernandez, a dentist, are her two sisters. She is of Canadian nationality and is of mixed ethnicity, born in Toronto to an Ecuadorian father and a Filipino mother.

When Leylah initially started playing sports at the age of five, she seemed to be a natural at soccer, and though track and field and volleyball joined the fray, tennis was her favorite. She began playing on the driveway of their Laval home, where the only purpose was to avoid hitting the family car. She practiced consistency by hitting a ball against the basement wall for hours on end, a habit that worried her mother, Irene, about the possibility of a hole in the TV or the wall. Leylah and her younger sister, Bianca, would ride their bikes three blocks to the tennis courts as they grew older.

    Leylah Annie Fernandez’s Professional Career

Leylah Annie Fernandez’s parents took the first move toward assisting her in pursuing a tennis career when she was seven years old, enrolling her in a provincial development program in Montreal linked to the national agenda. The goal was to assist her in improving her skill, but they quickly realized the difficulties of pursuing professional goals. Leylah, a left-handed player, was discovered to have a faulty forehand technique, was slow on her fitness testing, and had trouble serving. Instead of competing in the junior tournament at Wimbledon after winning the French Open singles championship, Leylah focused on her professional career. As a result, things worked out well for her. With nine wins in a row, she won the Challenger event in Gatineau for the first time. As an outcome result, there was a discussion about whether she would be given a wild card into the Rogers Cup women’s main draw. On the same note, Leylah may be securing a spot based on her performance in the previous two weeks.
