    Liam Broady is a professional tennis player currently ranked No. 5 in the United Kingdom.     Liam Broady was born on January 4, 1994, in Stockport, England, under the sign of Capricorn. Simon Broady and Shirley Broady are his parents. Naomi Broady, his older brother, is also a tennis player. Emma, his sister, and Calum, his brother, are his other siblings.

    Liam Broady went to Norris Bank Primary School and Priestnall School for his GCSEs, which he completed in 2010.

    Broady competed in the 2018 Davis Cup match against Spain; however, Naomi Broady has declined to represent Great Britain in the Fed Cup. He shifted his training base to the University of Bath in late 2016 and is now trained by Dave Sammel. Liam Broady is a die-hard Manchester City FC supporter.

     

    Career

    Liam Broady began playing on the Futures Circuit in 2009, at the age of 15, in both singles and doubles. At the GB F8 in Felixstowe in July 2009, he defeated Duncan Mugabe in his maiden main draw singles match. On the Futures Tour the following year, he defeated four adult players.

    Liam Broady reached the semifinals of the France F3 in Bressuire in February 2011. Four months later, he and Dan Evans won their first doubles title at the Chiswick GB Futures F11 tournament. His best performance came in the USA F30 semifinals in Florida in November 2012.

    In 2013, Liam Broady reached the Futures finals in three singles and seven doubles events, winning one solo title and four doubles titles with Joshua Ward-Hibbert. Broady began competing on the Challenger Tour more frequently that same season. In 2014, he climbed 271 positions to become the third-ranked British player, up from 470th at the start of the year. Broady won the Great Britain F1 Futures in Glasgow in February.

    Liam Broady finished second in the ATP Challenger Tour event Las Vegas Tennis Open in 2017. In 2018, he made his Davis Cup debut for the United Kingdom.

    Liam Broady opened the new season well, reaching successive ATO Challenger finals after a long layoff due to the COVID-19 outbreak. He also qualified for the main draw of the Miami Masters in the first round. He reached a career-high rating of No. 137 on April 19, 2021. He competed in the Italian Open in Rome in doubles in May 2021, teaming with Andy Murray. Kevin Krawietz and Hora Tecau defeated the duo in the second round.
