Maxime Crépeau Career

Maxime started playing football with a Canadian semi-professional soccer club Celtix du Haut-Richelieu, as a youth. He joined them in 2008 and stayed there till 2009.

Then, Maxime Crépeau joined the Canadian Soccer League’s Montreal Impact Academy in 2010. Finally, he got a senior deal with the Montreal Impact after three seasons with the U21 team, becoming the fourth Homegrown Player.

He made his professional debut against the Rochester Rhinos on May 2, 2015, after being loaned to FC Montreal, Impact’s USL affiliate team, and he was there for two seasons, 2015 and 2016.

The Impact promoted him to the #2 goalkeeper position behind Evan Bush before 2017. He made his first-team debut against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the opening leg of the 2017 Canadian Championship in May 2017.

He was again loaned to Ottawa Fury to desire more playing time in 2018 by the Impact. There he got his chance, and he immediately made his impression by keeping a clean sheet in 6 consecutive games.

As a result, Maxime Crépeau was named USL Player of the Month for May. He also broke Brandon Miller’s USL record for most shutouts in a single season with 15, overtaking him. Miller was playing for the Rochester Rhinos at the time.

After completing his loan spell at Fury, he was transferred to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on a permanent deal by Impact on December 9, 2018. On March 2, 2019, Maxime Crépeau made his Whitecaps debut against Minnesota United in the season opener.

He took over as the Whitecaps’ main goalkeeper in 2019 and 2020, but he missed a major part of the 2020 season after breaking his thumb in the MLS is Back Tournament.

As the 2021 season ended, Maxime Crépeau moved to Los Angeles FC on January 20, 2022.

Speaking of his national team career, he debuted in the Canadian youth program at age 15. He was a member of Canada’s silver-medal winning CONCACAF Under-17 Championship team in 2011 and the FIFA Under-17 World Cup squad that year.
