    He was born on the 4th of October in 1980 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He is the son of Jiri Rosicky and Eva Rosicky. As a sibling, he has a brother Jiri Rosicky Jr. The nickname of Tomas is “The Little Mozart.” He is the son of the captain of football for Czechoslovakia, he played for Sparta Prague too, and his mother was the top table tennis player.

    Rosicky’s father and older brother played in the Czech club Sparta Prague in the 1970s and 1990s, respectively, and Rosicky followed their lead. He played for the youth army of Sparta Prague, was promoted to the first team in 1998, and played 3 games for Sparta Prague in the 1998-99 season, winning the league championship in that season. In the 1999-2000 season, he followed the team to win two consecutive league championships and scored 5 goals. In addition to the league championship, he also won the most talented prize in the 1999 Czech player awards.

    In the 2000-01 Europa League group stage, Rosicky scored goals against Saqueda and Arsenal, attracting Bundesliga club Domont to offer him in January 2001.

    Dortmund:

    In 2001 Tomas Rosicky moved to Borussia Dortmund for a sum of 4.5 million euros. He helped Dortmund to the Bundesliga title in 2002 and reached the UEFA Cup final (Dortmund lost 3-2 to Feyenoord) in the same season. His solid form in the 2004/05 season helped Dortmund climb up the Bundesliga rankings, away from relegation spots. In total, he played almost 150 Bundesliga matches and 29 Champions League and UEFA Cup matches. 

    It was in Germany that he earned the nickname “Little Mozart” and “The Mozart of Soccer” for his ability to organize and orchestrate the game on the field.

    In 2006, after the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where he scored 2 goals against the United States, and after much speculation about his possible transfer to Atlético de Madrid, Rosicky signed for English Arsenal for three seasons, thus replacing Robert Pires.

    Tomas Rosicky’s transfer was confirmed on May 23, 2006. He was assigned the jersey with the number # 7, inherited from the great Robert Pires.

    He made his competitive debut for Arsenal on August 8, 2006, in a 3–0 victory over Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb in the previous round of the Champions League. He converted his first goal on September 13, 2006, against Hamburg for the same tournament. On January 6, 2007, he scored twice against Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup. His first Premier League score came against Wigan Athletic on February 11, 2007. In short, he scored 6 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions in his first season with the gunners.

    On August 30, 2016, Tomas Rosicky left Arsenal to return to his training club, Sparta Prague, from which he left in 2001. He signed a two-year contract. He made his debut on September 10, 2016, in the Czech Republic League, but he could not play the remainder of the 2016-17 season due to injury. On September 10, 2017, Tomas started again with his team in a match where he scored the final goal against Karvina.

    Retirement

    On December 20, 2017, Tomas Rosicky announced his retirement from professional football at 37 due to constant injuries that prevented him from playing regularly. His last spell at Sparta ended with 12 league games.
