History

The American football league or the AFL awarded a franchise to the popular businessman from Minnesota like Bill Boyer, Max Winter, and H.P. SKoglund. They formed an American football team that was unnamed at the time. Later to this group of businessmen, Ole Haugsrud was added to this group. Saly, Ole sold his shares of this club to Duluth Eskimos.

This team began to play in Ole’s High School. The school was called the Viking so you might guess where the original name came from. After years, the Viking began to train at the Bemidji State University. After playing several games and training for several months, they officially named the team, Minnesota Vikings. Their first AFL match was against the Dallas Cowboys.
