Reece, a four-star recruit, began receiving offers in the spring of 2018, but it wasn’t until late July of that year that he received his Virginia offer. He had 21 offers from schools such as Florida, LSU, Wisconsin, and USC during his recruitment.
Reece planned to visit UVA in November 2018, but he wanted to wait a few months before deciding. He made a surprise commitment to Virginia on June 13, 2019.
However, Reece didn’t sign his letter of intent to play at UVA until December 10, 2019. He started at UVA on August 1, 2020. Due to his substantial achievements, he was promoted to one of the starting guards early in the season.
The young athlete shot a game-winning buzzer-beater at the ACC Tournament to beat Syracuse and progress to the semifinals. He’s averaged 4.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists during his first season while shooting 38.2% from the field.

The talented athlete-Reece, the Head Coach Carlos Sample at Scotlandville Magnet HS, was a four-year letter winner from 2017-20. He guided the Hornets to four Louisiana High School Athletic Associate (LHSAA) 5A state championships with a 131–14 record.
Reece was named Louisiana Mr. Basketball after averaging 9.9 assists, 2.7 blocked shots, 19.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.2 steals as a senior in the 2019–20 season.
