    How did Robby Albarado start his career?

    Robby Albarado became a professional horse racing jockey at the age of 16. His first ever professional career win came on 29 June 1990 when he won the race with the horse named One Little Point in Evangeline Downs in Saint Landry Parish in Louisiana. Likewise, his first stake win and his first-grade stake win came in the years 1993 and 1995 at Louisiana Downs and Arlington Park, respectively.

    Success did not stop there as he grabbed his first Grade 1 win in Churchill Downs in 1998. Unfortunately, things took an unexpected turn in the same year. He suffered a major skull fracture and had to undergo surgery to replace portions of his skull with titanium mesh and polymer plate. He had to endure another setback in the year 2000, which prevented him from racing in the year 2001.

    However, he fought and won against such setbacks in 2003 when he rode the Mineshaft horse and grabbed four Grade 1 win. He had a special relationship with the horse, and the two of them were inducted into the hall of fame of the Fair Grounds. He crossed 3000 victories on 8 December 2004 with a win with the horse named Isle of Silver in the race that took place in New Orleans’ Fair Grounds Race Course.

    Likewise, he crossed 4000 wins on 30 May 2009 with Keertana in the race that took place at Churchill Downs and 5000 wins with Vivacious V.V. in the race that took place on 22 January 2017 at Fair Grounds Race Course. His most recent race came in the year 2020 on 3 October when he rode Swiss Skydiver in the Preakness Stakes of the year 2020 and won the race.
