The Houston Chronicle named Wheeler the Houston Private School MVP, followed by a co-MVP of the 2019 Big Baller Brand All-America game.

College Highlights
In 2019, Wheeler joined Georgia Bulldogs and was considered a four-star recruit by most services. He averaged nine points and 4.5 assists per game in his freshman year and set a freshman record of the most assists – 139 assists. After Anthony Edwards’s departure in his sophomore season, Wheeler continued playing basketball with excellent results and assumed a leading role.
On February 23, 2021, Sahvir Wheeler scored 14 points with 13 assists and 11 rebounds in a match against LSU securing the first triple-double in program history. The game concluded with LSU losing 91-78. Wheeler ranked no. 87 nationally in assists per game in the 2019-20 season.
In his sophomore year, Wheeler broke UGA’s single-season assist record during the South Carolina game. He was scoring with an average of 14 points with 7.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. Against Missouri, Wheeler set an SEC Tourney record of 13 assists.
