Wander Franco Early Life

Franco, his father, and his brothers share almost the same name. He was born to Wander and Nancy Aybar on March 1, 2001, in Baní, Dominican Republic, which makes him a Dominican citizen.

In the 2017 international class, Wander Franco was rated as one of the best global prospects. Franco signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on July 2, 2017.

With the Princeton Rays, he made his professional debut in 2018. Wander hit for the cycle on July 14, 2018, while playing for Princeton.

Franco was named the 2018 Appalachian League Player of the Year after hitting .374/.445/.636 with 57 runs batted and 11 home runs in (RBIs) in 245 plate appearances for the Princeton Rays in 2018. Franco was only 17 years old at the time.
