Micky Ward, born George Michael Ward Jr. on October 4, 1965, also known by his nickname “Irish Micky,” is an American former professional boxer. Ward, who competed from 1985 to 2003, was known for his quick play and agility. In his career that spanned almost two decades, Micky Ward was challenged once for the IBF light-welterweight title in 1997 and also won the WBU light welterweight title in 2000. He is also known for his trilogy of fights with Arturo Gatti; two of those fights received Fight of the Year awards by The Ring magazine.
Micky Ward has had a successful career as a boxer as well as a peaceful personal life. After his retirement, he started a fitness gym which he owns with his brother and is married to his long-time girlfriend Charlene Fleming.
MARRIAGE
Tying their knots back in 1999, Charlene and Micky have now been married for almost twenty-three years, and the couple has a beautiful daughter, Kasie.
It is believed that Charlene, too, is a former athlete, but there is little evidence to support that argument. What we can be sure of is, she got into the limelight after her marriage with Micky Ward. Ward and Fleming are both very professional in maintaining their private life. They do not share much information about themselves with the public unless required.

She was born in 1976 and is currently 45 years of age. Like Micky, Charlene, too, was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. So we know that the couple is actually high school sweethearts or neighbors who turned friends and started dating each other. The couple has been going strong ever since their marriage and seems to enjoy spending quality time with each other.
If that is true, it is possible that Charlene, too, went to Lowell High School for education along with Micky Ward, and that is where they could have discovered their love for one another.

MICKY WARD
Micky Ward was active in his career from 1985 to 2003. In a total of 51 matches that he fought, he won 38 of them and lost 12. He is renowned for his trilogy series against Arturo Gatti. The wild fight was won by Micky, but both the fighters were admitted to the Trauma Center for intensive care. They later had 2 matches, which were won by Gatti and Ward, respectively, earning them huge uproar and media acclamation.
Upon retirement, Micky became a motivational speaker. In 2010, a film was made based on his career, ‘The Fighter,’ in which Mark Whalberg portrayed his character.
