Yeferson Soteldo was born in Acarigua Venezuela on 30th June 1997 and moved to Caracas as a teenager. After a tough time in Caracas, his early coach at Caracas FC gives him a contract with Zamora FC at the age of 16. On September 16, 2013, he made his first-team – and Primera División – debut, replacing Jhon Murillo as a late substitute in a 0–0 home draw against Atlético Venezuela.

La U paid a premium of US$1.5 million for the loan, with a buyout option of 50% of his rights fixed at US$3.5 million. As a regular starter, he made 26 league appearances and scored five goals. Soteldo’s club Santos FC announced on April 24, 2021, that he had been sold to MLS club Toronto FC for a fee of $6.5 million.
