    Bianca Andreescu is a tennis player from Canadian. She is best known for being the first young man to win the Grand Slam title since 2006. In addition, she has lost former number 1, Serena Williams, twice. At just the age of 21 years, she had an exceptional career. She is the first tennis player from Canada to win the Grand Slam.

    By 2021, she is a top Canadian athlete at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). In addition, she also ranked No. 4 worldwide. Working on her dream career from seven in Romania, she won the Canada Open Championship in 50 years.

    Bianca Andreescu Early Life

    The young athlete was born in Mississauga city of Ontario, Canada, to Nicu Adreescu and Maria Andreescu. Nicu moved to Canada with his wife, Maria, after accepting a job as a mechanical engineer. Before shifting to Ontario, Maria worked as a banker in her hometown. However, when Bianca was seven years old, the Andreescu family returned to their homeland so that her mother could start her own business. However, two years later, the family packed up and returned to Canada. Maria, at present, works as a law enforcement officer at a financial services company.

    Andreescu fell in love with tennis in Romania, and her family friend, Gabriel Hristache, taught her. After she returns to Canada, she joined the Ontario Racquet Club in her hometown. Later, she began honing her skills at the U14 National Training Center. After that, she attended Bill Crothers Secondary School. However, she did not continue her college. Instead, the 2019 champion wanted to focus on tennis and her lifelong dream of winning the Grand Slam.

    Adreescu began her professional training at the age of twelve. Later, she joined the U14 National Training Center. In 2014, she won the Grade 4 and Grade 5 titles. In addition, she also won the junior Premier tennis tournament known as Les Petit As. When she achieved the Under-16 Orange Bowl, she became the fourth consecutive Canadian to win. Bibi moved up to the Grade 2 tournament when she was 15 years old. However, while playing her first Grade 1 tournament, Open International Junior de Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the athlete lost.

    However, after experiencing a few losses, she returned to normal. Bianca won her first Grade A title, the Canadian Open Junior Championship, playing Robillard-Millette in a home game. Although Bianca lost to Kayla Day in the Yucatán Cup final, she defeated Day later to win the Orange Bowl. She was successful in becoming the first player to win the Under-16 and Under-18 titles, respectively, after former tennis player and the ESPN broadcaster Mary Joe Fernández won in 1984 and 1985.

    In addition, Bianca also represented her homeland in the Junior Federation Cup. Tennis Canada named this outstanding Young Athlete Young Woman. Although she did well in the 2016 Grand Slam, she did not win any titles. Andreescu also walked out of Open Australia after suffering an injury to her left adductor and right ankle and a broken leg in the foot. However, after a few setbacks and losses, she won the Australian and French rounds with another Canadian player Carson Branstine. The duo was able to become the first Canadian team to win a double title in the girls’ Grand Slam by winning the France Open.

    The former No. 4 started playing in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s Circuit in 2015. Unfortunately, her start was a bit sour, and she lost a few games at first. Also, in 2016 her injury sidelined her, and she missed most of the tournament. Still, Bibi did an excellent career on her arrival. She won her first ITF title in every game. In addition, in 2017, she won two other ITF degrees and entered the Top 200 level in the WTA. Also, Andreescu successfully won against Italian tennis player Camila Giorgi in her first appearance on the WTA tour.

    Although she has not played any WTA matches in more than 14 months, the 2019 season has been her best yet. Bianca defeated the leading seed, three top 40 players, before losing the second seed. Also, she has won a 125K title in the Oracle Challenger Series. In addition, she prepared for the Australian Open after defeating former American No. 1 player Whitney Osuigwe. Not to mention that Andreescu rose from No. 125 to No. 68. The 20-year-old reached the semi-finals of the Mexico Open and won her first WTA title at the Indian Wells Open. After winning, she placed No. 24 and became the first wild card in the tournament’s history to become a lone champion.

    Bianca was the first and 18-year-old since Serena Williams in 1999 enjoyed a win. After winning the Miami Open, she suffered an injury that cost her the French Open. However, while playing her first game in the Canadian Open, she won the tournament, becoming the first Canadian to do so since 1969. Former No. 4 defeated against former No. 1 Serena Williams in the final. Her level upped from 24 to 14.

    The 20-year-old is still single this year and is focused on her career. However, she was in love with another tennis player named Benjamin Sigouin. Unfortunately, the two parted as their work took them to different places. Still, they are good friends.
