Before Daria Gavrilova played for Australia, she used to play for her own country Russia. She played in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games, which was held in Singapore. In 2011, she was in WTA, qualifying three times, including US Open. She won a singles title on ITF Circuit. In 2013, she reached 2r two times, including in the Australian Open. She also fell one 1r four times and fell in qualifying 12 times.

Daria Gavrilova missed the first six months of 2014 after she tore ACL in late 2013. Similarly, she reached 2r one time and fell in qualifying twice, including the US Open. She won one singles title as well as doubles titles on ITF Circuit in 2014.

Daria Gavrilova was declared WTA’s Most Impressive Newcomer for 2015 after she catapulted from number 233 to number 36 at the end of 2014. She went on to represent Australia for the first time in Fed Cup in April of 2016. She reached SF at Hongkong after securing her first victory over reigning World No. 1 after she defeated Kerber. She reached her first-ever singles final in Moscow in 2016.

In 2019, she couldn’t play many tournaments because she was heavily injured. During the first round of the US Open of 2019, she lost to Fiona Ferro. She had to forfeit from the other tournaments ranking 237.

Daria Gavrilova had no option but to not play in the 2020’s Australian Open because she was injured and needed time to recover.
