Fernando Tatís Early life

San Pedro de Macorís, a native of the Dominican Republic, Tatís was born on January 1, 1975, under the guise of star Capricorn. Tatís’ 47-year-old child holds a Dominican nationality. Fernando Tatís Career

At 17, Tatís was signed as a free amateur agent by Omar Minaya and Texas Rangers on August 25, 1992. Tatís played his first game for Major League Baseball with Rangers, in the third division, about five years later, on July. 26, 1997, he went on to play 60 games with the Rangers during his rookie season.

During the trading deadline of July 31, 1998, the Rangers traded Tatís and Darren Oliver and Mark Little to St. Louis by Royce Clayton and Todd Stottlemyre. Tatís had the best season of his career in 1999 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Fernando hit 34 home runs with 107 RBI and 21 stolen bases, with an average of .298. On April 23, 1999, Tatís made baseball history when he hit two slams in one inning. After playing just 96 games for the Cardinals in 2000 due to injury, Tatís was traded to Montreal Expos and Britt Reames of Dustin Hermanson and Steve Kline.

Unfortunately, Tatís has played just 208 of the 486 games he may have had in three seasons with the Expos due to various physical injuries. As a result, Baltimore Orioles signed Tatís to a minor league contract on November 25, 2005.

In 2007, Tatís was invited to coach the spring with the Los Angeles Dodgers. After being assigned to a minor league baseball camp, Tatís granted his release on his contract on March 14. Fernando signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets nine days later. Later, he spent the 2007 season with his club – AAA partner, New Orleans Zephyrs.

On September 16, 2008, Tatís shrugged his shoulders after diving for a fly in a game against the Washington Nationals.

A Mets team doctor found that the injury was a Grade III separation, a complete separation of the joint from the socket. As a result of this diagnosis, Tatís missed another 2008 season.

Although he missed the end of the season, Tatís was awarded the Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year on October 23, 2008. Tatís played for the Mets from time to time in 2009 and 2010. His last Major League match was on July 4, 2010.

He also became the latest New York Met to wear the number 17 uniform, which was later disused as a token of respect for Keith. Hernandez wore it as a member of the Mets from 1983 to 1989.
