Early Life

The birthplace of Frances is Maryland. He got into the world on 20th January 1998. His father’s name is Constant Tiafoe, and his mother, Alpina Tiafoe. The couple was immigrants from Sierra Leone. Frances’s father migrated to the U.S. in 1993, and his mother relocated in 1996. They migrated to save their life from the Civil War.

Constant Tiafoe started to work as a day laborer on a construction site in 1999, which was for a project of building the “Junior Tennis Championship Center” (JTCC) in “College Park.” The place was in Maryland. After completing the site, Constant got the opportunity to become the site’s custodian that gave him a spare office to live. Frances Tiafoe, along with Franklin, lived with his father for five days a week during his position. They lived in an identical routine for eleven years.

Frances starts playing tennis from the young age of four and stay with their mother when she was not doing night shifts. She was a nurse. Along with his brother, Frances started their training in the JTCC when they were five years old. His father managed to bypass the fees.

The passion of Frances Tiafoe was terrific and influential. The determination arose the interest of Misha Kouznetsov to coach him when he was only eight years old. Misha even found sponsors for Frances to participate in the tournament. He coached Frances for nine years. Then, Frances went to the “USTA National Training Center.” It was in Boca Raton, Florida.

Frances has won several junior championships. He also held the number two ranking in juniors globally in the “International Tennis Federation” (ITF) list of orders. Frances succeeded in winning his first international tournament when he was only fourteen years old and became the youngest player to win the “Orange Bowl” in December 2013.  Frances Tiafoe also won the “Easter Bowl” Frances won the title of “USTA Junior National Championship” in August 2015. He was only seventeen years old. The victory gave him a wild card entry in the “2015 US Open.”

Frances began his professional career at the age of sixteen from the “ATP Tour.” He participated in the “ATP Challenger Level” in April 2015. But ATP placed him in the “Top 300” after excellent performances within a month, and the position was not sufficient to participate in the “American Clay Court Challenger” events.
