    Henry Davis studied for four years at Fox Lane High School, where he was coached by Matt Hillis. He was ranked as 231st nationally in the Class of 2018 by Perfect Game, including No. 5 in the state of New York. He was selected for First-Team All-Star twice. He was awarded Perfect Game New York 2018 Player of the Year. He was rated the best catcher in New York by Perfect Game.

    Henry Davis attended the Bedford, New York, Fox Lane High School. He reached 429 as a junior in 2017. He beat 441 with seven homers and 32 RBIs in 2018, its senior year. He has been named the Section 1 Player of the Year Perfect Game New York and has won state-wide awards. He was unwritten and registered at the University of Louisville in the major baseball league draft of 2018.

    In a first general selection in Baseball’s major league draft, Davis was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

    Henry Davis played in 45 games (35 starts) and batted 0.2280 in 2019, the freshman season at Louisville, with three home runs and 23 RBI’s. After the 2019 season, Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League played collegiate summer baseball. In 2020, as a sophomore, it hit .372 with three home races and 13 RBIs in 14 games prior to the season due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Davis hit .370/.482/.663 in 2021 and recorded 48 walks and 24 streakouts for 50 games with 15 home runs and 48 RBIs. Henry Davis was appointed to the first team of the All-Atlantic Coast Conference and also won All-US accolades.

The average speed of his exit was 92.7 mph and it was in the 90th percentile. In the first two rounds of the 2020 draft, only two players ranked above him: Aaron Sabato, the 27th overall twin pick, and Spencer Torkelson, the tigers’ first.
