Career

Joseph Bramlett qualified for the PGA Tour in 2010 at Qualifying School. Along with Tiger Woods, he was one of two African-American players on the PGA Tour in 2011. Since 1985, he has become the first black golfer to graduate from the tour’s qualifying school.

The 6’2″ Saratoga native missed 12 of 25 cuts in 2011, finishing 196th on the money list, losing his Tour card, and eventually joining the Web.com Tour. He finished 28th in 2012, three spots short of returning to the PGA Tour. He completed the 252-hole PGA Qualifying School gantlet on December 6, 2010, surviving all three stages to win his tour card by two strokes.

Bramlett found his sea legs with a birdie on the fourth hole in the PGA Tour qualifying golf event in Orlando, Florida, before righting the ship with five straight birdies from holes 8-12. He played a 4-under 68 in the final round to climb 17 positions on the leaderboard and secure his card by two shots at 11-under total.

It had been three years since Bramlett had won the national title with the Stanford men’s team. At the age of 14, Joseph was the youngest player to qualify for the US Amateur. Bramlett finished T7 in the AT&T Byron Nelson in Texas on May 16, 2021, for his first top 10 results of the season. He shot 64-70-67-68 for a total of 19-under-par for the week.

Net Worth

According to ESPN, Bramlett has earned a total of $544,477 from the 18 PGA events he has played in 2021. After placing 7th in the AT&T Byron Nelson in 2021, he earned his best career prize of $263,250. Prior to this, he was earning an average of $28,000 each tournament for making the payout cuts of many PGA Tour events.

Since his debut appearance on the PGA Tour in 2019, Bramlett’s earnings should have increased significantly. Also, it’s safe to assume that his professional reputation is assisting him in winning some extra cash in local or regional competitions he participates in – mostly through regular salaries augmented by lesson fees and pro shop earnings.

Given his mediocre position among PGA pros, it’s difficult to believe Bramlett’s net worth is in the seven figures. However, it’s safe to assume the Stanford alum has hundreds of thousands of dollars in his bank account.
