Early Life
Ricky Simon was born on August 31, 1992, in Vancouver, Washington, United States. He comes from a loving family and had a healthy upbringing with his brothers Carlos, Brandon and, Avi. He also grew up with his first cousin Vince Morales, who is also a UFC athlete. Ricky Simon started practicing wrestling when he was only nine years old. He graduated from Union High School in 2021 and initially wanted to become a wrestler at the college level. But that plan did not work out for him, so he became a mixed martial artist. Before turning professional in 2014, Ricky Simon held an amateur record of 3-0. He made a name for himself after creating a record 12-1 win in his professional career when he fought for competitions like King of the Cage, Titan Fighting Championship and before joining the UFC, he was the Legacy Fighting Alliance Bantamweight Champion. Simon made his UFC debut on April 21, 2018, where he faced MerabDvalishvili in an event at UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He won the match by submission earning him the “Fight of the Night” award. He has won the award on two occasions.
