Mike Pereira Career

According to SCU.EDU, Mike began his football career as a Division 1 official during the 1982 college football season. After that, Mike Pereira worked as a collegiate referee in the Big West Conference and the Western Athletic Conference for 14 years (WAC).

Mike officiated eight playoff bowl games during his career, including the Aloha Bowl and the Cotton Bowl (twice). In 1996, he was promoted to sideline judge in the NFL and served as the WAC’s supervisor of officials.

In 1998, Mike Pereira was appointed to NFL Supervisor of Officiating after two years in his previous position. Mike joined the NFL as Director of Officiating in 2001 and was promoted to Vice President of NFL Officiating in 2004.
