High School Highlights

Oscar Tshiebwe moved to the states in November 2015. He attended Mountain Mission School and soon transferred to Kennedy Catholic for his junior season. The Kennedy team claimed the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class 1A title. Oscar set an average of 21.1 points per game, earning Class 1A All-State first-team honors. 

His performances led Kennedy Catholic to a 24–3 record and the PIAA Class 6A championship in his senior season. As a senior, he set an average of 23.4 points, 18 rebounds, and five blocks per game, becoming a Class 6A All-State first-team pick. In addition, Oscar was named Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year.

Later on, Oscar competed on the Adidas Gauntlet representing ITPS Wildcats Select averaging 21.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game. Also, he participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game and Nike Hoop Summit.

Following his game performances, Rivals ranked him No.26, 247ASports 22, and ESPN 46. On October 20, 2018, Oscar chose to play for West Virginia.

College Highlights

In his second game, Oscar Tshiebwe scored double-double 20 points and 17 rebounds at Pittsburgh. The game concluded with Oscar being named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. In addition, Oscar was the MVP and won the Cancun Challenge championship game. He secured 19 points with 18 rebounds against Wichita State during the championship.

Again on December 2, 2019, Oscar was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. The regular season concluded with Oscar’s name in the Second Team All-Big 12 and the All-Newcomer Team. As a freshman, he set an average of 11.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

In 10 games, Oscar averaged 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds in his sophomore season. However, his reign in West Virginia ended after leaving for Kentucky due to personal reasons.

On January 10, 2021, Oscar officially transferred to Kentucky. In his debut match, he secured 17 points with 20 rebounds. However, his team lost to Duke in a 79-71 loss. On December 22 against Western Kentucky, the match concluded with a victory and set a Rupp Arena record of 28 rebounds.
