Seimone Augustus, who was born on April 30, 1984, was an American basketball player who last played for Los Angeles Sparks of the Women National Basketball Association (WNBA), Dynamo Kursk, and the American national team. He was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx for the first time in the 2006 WNBA Draft and left to sign with Sparks 14 years later.
Augustus, an eight-year-old star, was one of the most famous people in the WNBA, winning MVP awards while leading the Lynx in the 2011 WNBA tournament, the first of four to win a team.

Seimone Augustus Early life
Seimone was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; she is the daughter of Seymore and Kim Augustus. Before her first year of high school, Augustus appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Women, with the title, “Is She the Next Michael Jordan?” Seimone played for Capitol High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was named WBCA All-American. He participated in the 2002 WBCA High School All-America Game, where he scored fourteen points and won MVP awards.

While working with LSU Lady Tigers, the All-American twice won the Naismith College Player of the Year, Wooden Award, and Wade Trophy in 2005 and 2006 while leading LSU in three straight Final Four matches. The Lady Tigers, however, has never advanced beyond the semi-final round. He scored 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and two assists per game in his coaching career. In June 2009, Seimone suffered an injury at the end of the season, a broken ACL, against Phoenix Mercury. Augustus’ return in 2010 was also marred by medical problems, as he was forced to undergo surgery to remove fibroid tissue, including one that was the size of a golf ball. However, Augustus regained full power in 2011 and was part of the Lynx strong team, including Lindsay Whalen’s support team, Rebekkah Brunson, and the newly acquired bodyguard Maya Moore. At the end of the training camp, the team traveled to Ekaterinburg, Russia, competing in the 2009 UMMC Ekaterinburg International Invitational. While Augustus did not go to the World Championships, he was selected for his second Olympic Games.
