He also worked as head coach for Valencia since December 2nd, 2015. His first game as a coach for Valencia was quite a bad experience. They lost to Lyon in the Champions League and were out of the tournament. After tasting nine defeats, he was able to win the first match on February 13th, 2016 against Espanyol.
