Gregg Berhalter Early Life
Gregg Berhalter was born on August 1, 1973, in Englewood, New Jersey, U.S. But he grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey because of his family movement at an early age. So, he spends his time his teenage time with his parents together.

Gregg Berhalter started his soccer career by joining the Raleigh Flyers team of the United Soccer League (USISL) in 1993. After a year of play in USL and graduating from University, Berhalter later sign a contract with Zwolle (Dutch Club) in 1994.
After a good year in Zwolle, Gregg left the club and later joined the Crystal Palace in England. He played alongside Jovan Kirovski and manages to score a goal against Bradford City.
Likewise, Berhalter signed a contract with Energie Cottbus which is under the Bundesliga. During his time on the club, he appeared in 111 leagues as a player and a team captain.
In addition to that, Berhalter manages to step into U.S national team as a captain where he plays the game against Saudi Arabia in 1994 It was a good time for Berhalter by serving as a captain in the club so he again fulfills his duty for the club in 2002 World Cup.
Besides, he also appeared in the 2006 World Cup under the U.S national team in a replacement of Cory Gibbs. However, the team wasn’t lucky during the game and was eliminated from the game.
After years of playing as a soccer defender, Berhalter retired from the player and started the coaching career for Hammarby IF (Swedish Club) in 2011. However, his managerial skills weren’t quite good during the game so, he was fired from his coach position.
Later on, Berhalter joined the Columbus Crew as a head coach in 2013. He manages to lift the team up till 2018 because of his coaching skills.
While regaining from Columbus, Berhalter joined the United States national team as a manager in 2018. Since then, he is serving as a team coach and manager till now. Recently in August 2021, Gregg leads the team for Continental Championship which was for Concacaf Gold Cup.
