Joyce participated in the men’s super heavyweight division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where he won a gold medal. He also achived the title at the 2015 European Games in Baku. Joyce won the super heavyweight category at the 2012 ABA Championships and the 2012 GB Amateur Boxing Championship.
