On June 4, 2014, Benjamin agreed to terms with the Panthers on a four-year, $7.66 million contract. Benjamin and Jerricho Cotchery competed for the Panthers’ No. 1 receiver job, which Benjamin won.
Benjamin finished his debut season with 73 receptions, 1,008 yards receiving, and 9 touchdowns. He became the NFL’s 11th rookie wide receiver to post a 1,000-yard season.
