Kokona Hiraki is a young Japanese skateboarder who won a silver medal in the Women’s park event at the summer 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She is the first Japanese athlete who captures the fame and the record for participating in Olympics at such a young age.

Kokona Hiraki Early Life

kokona hiraki was born in 26 August 2008 in Kutchan, Hokkaido, Japan. She is usually called by her nickname “Nosegrind Master” because of her special skating skills using the front truck of the skateboard. In addition, she is named after the coconut because her mother loves tropical countries and warmer places.

Kokona is a daughter of Minato Hiraki (Father) and Minako Hiraki (Mother). Her parents are always supportive of Kokona’s skating career from the beginning. In fact, they want Kokona to be the best athlete in the future.

Kokona grew up with his brother Manato Hiraki in Kutchan. Both the sister and brother shared a good memory together as a child. You can see the strong love of Manato towards Kokona.

Besides, Hiraki started her skateboarding practice just at age of 5 in Kutchan, Japan. The reason why she becomes a young skateboarder at such an age is because of her mother (Monako Hiraki). She was a huge fan of skateboarding from the beginning so she motivates or influences her daughter to become a skateboarder in the future.

Kokona Hiraki Career

Kokona Hiraki is a skateboarder at a very young age. She used to participate in the local skateboarding events in her hometown Kutchan. During the local event, she usually used to score good points and also manage to win the event.

When Kokona turned 10, she first started her career by competing in Women’s park events in various World Skateboarding Championships. In 2018 following the same event, she mange to come in 7^th position.

A year later after she turned 11, she again participates in the same (Women’s park event) in 2019 and secures her 11^th position. After her achievement in the World skateboarding games, Kokona again competed at International X Games held in Boise, Idaho, the USA following the same year. During her stay, she becomes the youngest skateboarder to pick a silver medal at the X Games.

Her passion for skateboarding goes, even more, higher and she continues participating in other International skateboarding tournaments. Saying that she joined the Vans Park tour held in Paris and secure the 1^st position. Similarly, she also participates in the World cup skateboarding 2019 in the Women’s bowl held in Orange, CA, USA, and Dew Tour in Long Beach, CA, USA.

In 2021, Kokona competed in Dew Tour Des Moines and came in 5^th position. After her win, she manages to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Her ambition to win a medal at Tokyo Olympics is finally completed. So, she gives her best during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and wins the silver medal in the Women’s Park Event.
