Lindsey Weaver became the second female golfer in history to shoot a 59 on the Apache Course at Desert Mountain at the 2012 Ping Junior Interclub event, after Annika Sorenstam.

Early career

Lindsey Weaver was a player on the Notre Dame football team during her freshman year. With a six-under 210, she shared co-medalist honors in the BIG EAST Championship. Lindsey Weaver was named the Women’s Golf Player of the Year in the BIG EAST. In addition, she selected the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and the All-BIG EAST Women’s Golf Team by a unanimous vote. In October, she was named the BIG EAST Women’s Golf Player of the Month. Among the five active roster members, she finished first in eight competitions. On Golfstat’s rankings, she completed the fall slate as the No.1 golfer in the country.

She lettered in golf for two years in high school in Arizona under coach Mike Sarraino. In her freshman year, she won regional and state championships. On the Junior Golf Scoreboard, she was ranked No. 3 in the country, seventh in the Golfweek Junior Golf rankings, and 20th in the Polo golf rankings. Lindsey Weaver was the AJGA’s top female golfer in terms of most victories in a year and most years with at least one victory. She helped the United States win the 2011 PING Junior Solheim Cup by securing a critical 12th point with a 2 & 1 victory over Charley Hull of England.

 

Professional Career

In her sophomore year, Lindsey Weaver was selected a second-team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. She competed in all 12 events and 37 rounds, placing in the top ten in six of them. At the Windy City Collegiate Classic, she won the individual medal. At the Bruin Wave Invitational, she tied for eighth place after shooting a 218 (+2). With a 218 (+8), she tied for eighth place for the third time in a row at the SunTrust Gator Invitational. She finished the year in a tie for 16th place at the NCAA Championships with a score of 285 (+5). She has the most top-10 finishes on the team.

In the 2014/15 season, Lindsey Weaver was named in All-Pac-12 First Team, WGCA Second-Team All-America, Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team, and Golfweek Second-Team All-America were among her honors. Lindsey Weaver competed in all 12 events and 37 rounds, placing six times in the top ten and twice in the top twenty. With a score of 215 at the NCAA Regional Championships, she placed third (-1). At the NCAA Championships, she tied for 18th place with a score of 200 (+11).
