Early Life

The birthplace of Mark is South Auckland. He came into the world on 23rd March 1974. His childhood was full of violence, fights, and quarrels. Mark had to spend time in jail for his violent offense. This also resulted in serving jail terms two times. Just after coming out of the jail, Mark got into another furious fight outside a nightclub. But this fight became a fruitful one for his career.

Mark started his MMA fighting career. Mark competed in the “PRIDE Fighting Championship” in Japan. He failed to win the beginning matches of his career. Mark Hunt was part of the “PRIDE Shockwave” in 2005. He won the match against Mirko Cro Crop. Mark also won the match against Yosuke Nishijima during the “PRIDE 31.” These victories helped him to make his image as an MMA fighter. He competed in the “Open Weight Grand Prix” during “PRIDE Total Elimination Absolute” in 2006.
