She began to display her talent at the age of 15 and was able to compete at the senior level, finishing second in the Vietnam Open Grand Prix Tournament. Tai earned a bronze medal in the women’s singles event and assisted Chinese Taipei in reaching the East Asian Games final.

    She represented Chinese Taipei at the 2014 Asian Games, winning the country’s first badminton bronze medal. Tai reached World No. 1 for the first time in her career in 2016, after winning the Indonesia Open and the Hong Kong Open. After securing the Superseries Finals in Dubai for the second time, she was ranked No. 2 in the world in women’s singles.

    As the first seed, Tai began the year 2020 by competing in the Malaysia Masters. She finished second after losing two games in a row to the well-known player “Chen Yufei.” She secured the coveted All England Open title for the third time in the finals years.

    By competing in four finals at the tournament, she became just the third female player after Xie Xingfang and Tine Baun to win three titles. She beat Chen Yufei in the final with a score of 21-19, 21-15.
