Richardson’s performances earned him the title of Region 2-3A Player of the Year. Then for his senior season, Richardson moved to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, where he played in the Jordan Brand Classic. Later on, ESPN ranked him No. 38 in his class and a four-star recruit.

College Highlights

Will Richardson committed to Oregon over offers from Gonzaga and Georgia. In 2018, Richardson attended Oregon University and is currently a part of the basketball team. He averaged six points, 2.5 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game in his freshman season.

As a sophomore, Richardson continued honing his skills and averaged at 11 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. His performance led the Pac-12 Conference in a three-point field goal percentage. Then, in 2020, Richardson went on a left thumb surgery and required him to rest for at least six weeks. Ultimately, the surgery cost him his first 12 games of the season.

Richardson returned on March 7, 2021, and set a career-high 22 points in an 80-67 win over Oregon State. Although Richardson was a junior, he averaged 11.3 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. The athlete is still in the early stages of life and shows promise.
